It is with great excitement and a sense of pride that I welcome you to a new school year at Yazoo County High School. As your new principal, I am honored to join this incredible community of dedicated teachers, talented students, and supportive parents.

We have an exceptional group of students and staff, and I am confident that, together, we can achieve great things. My primary goal is to create an environment where every student feels valued and supported as they work towards their personal and academic goals.

This year, we will focus on increasing our graduation rate and ensuring that every student is prepared for the next step in their journey, whether that be college, the workforce, or the military. We are committed to providing the resources, guidance, and opportunities needed for our students to succeed and thrive.

Some background information about me. Before becoming Principal for the 2024-2025 school year, I served as the Assistant Principal at Yazoo County High School for 2 years. Before becoming Assistant Principal, I worked as the Computer Lab, Physical Education, & Health teacher at Linwood Elementary in the Yazoo County School District. I coached basketball and was a beta club sponsor while there. I served at Linwood for 5 years. I am a native of Clarksdale, MS, where I also attended Clarksdale High School (Go Wildcats). I am a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University(Go Devils) with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Mississippi State University (Hail State).  I also hold a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University (Go Wolves). This year will be my 13th year in education, and I am excited to start fresh and improve each and every day.
